How did we decide to build a Log Home? Well, it starts like this; Rose and I had been looking at custom homes in magazines for a few years. We had talked about someday building  a house the way we wanted it. We saw a "Hometime" show on building a Log Home, and that got us started. We loved the look and the rustic feeling of the Logs. We like large porches, a cozy master bedroom, A bath with a soaking tub, and a fireplace. We had found several books and magazines on Log homes, and had even picked out a few plans that we really liked, but they were impractical for our purpose. (but, its fun to dream). Then, when we were camping, on vacation, we decided the area we were camping at was a good location to buy property. We Found a great Corner Lot for a good deal and Bought it. This lot would be a great place to put a little get away, weekend retreat, or just a great place to stay when for a weekend, and what a great investment. So, that's what started us on this Road.

a Custom Design.  A simple Two-Story Log Home in Alta Sierra California.

This compact two-bedroom, two-story Log home owes its expansive feeling to an open, loft style, floor plan and spacious decks, and covered front porch. The well-planned wall of windows give the great room and dining area a view of the forest that surrounds it. A open kitchen accents a bay-windowed dining room, with access to the great room and wood burning stove. The master suite and bath features a large whirlpool tub and a balcony. One additional bedroom share a hall bath.

We will be adding a garage at a later time.

We will be concentrating only on the house and adding the garage later. The plans come with a carport which we will use until time comes that we might convert it to a garage.
